That is a better option than buying chip cloths, which grants an unknown product safety. The following pattern refers to pants for babies from 9 to 12 months old (25-30 in). It was tested on a baby boy using a cloth diaper.

Istruzioni

Print the .pdf files and tape the sheets together to obtain a complete paper pattern for the back and one for the front. Cut the sweatshirt along one side, open it and then place the template on the fabric right side up in the best way to avoid wasting fabric. Outline the pattern with chalk and cut to obtain the front and back sides of the pants. Hem the legs. Place the 2 pieces face to face with the printed side of the material facing inwards. Sew with a zig-zag stitch along both vertical edges and then do the same along the curve between legs. Keep the pants inside out. Fold the top of the pants creating an elastic casing. Sew all the way around with a zig-zag stitch, leaving a small opening for inserting the elastic.

Adjustable legs

The size of pants can be increased adding adjustable legs that can fit babies from 6 months to 2 years. In the following picture, adjustable legs obtained from the arms of an old sweater.
